Mr. Christopher Kasian, Principal

As the West Perry High School Principal, Mr. Kasian is thrilled to lead a great team of teachers, students, and families. West Perry embodies the importance of family, hard work, and personal responsibility. His mission is to encourage students and teachers to think, smile, dream, and strive to be their very best. He sees West Perry High School as a place where students and staff will be accepted, appreciated, and held accountable for high expectations and have leaders who are available to support students, staff, and the community.

Mr. Kasian began his teaching journey at Luzerne County Community College and Bloomsburg University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education/English. At Lehigh University, he obtained an ESL teaching certificate. He also earned a Master’s Degree from Wilkes University in Educational Leadership. During his first 12 years of teaching, he taught middle and high school English and ESL in the Philadelphia, Hazleton, and Panther Valley School Districts. His family moved to Dillsburg in 2016, and he was an ESL teacher at Central Dauphin East High and Summer School Principal for four years before serving as the 12th and 9th Grade Principal at East High for two years. In addition to teaching, he coached basketball, football, baseball, and track for 12 years as a head and assistant coach from the youth to high school level. He officiated PIAA basketball and baseball for six years and volunteered as a Good News Club and prison teacher for four years.

In his free time, Mr. Kasian enjoys being with his wife, Jessie, and their three boys, Timothy, Benjamin, and Daniel. They raise chickens and are avid gardeners. He loves being outdoors during all seasons, reading a good book, fishing, riding bikes, and exercising.
