Mr. Christopher Kasian, Principal
As the West Perry High School Principal, Mr. Kasian is thrilled to lead a great team of teachers, students, and families. West Perry embodies the importance of family, hard work, and personal responsibility. His mission is to encourage students and teachers to think, smile, dream, and strive to be their very best. He sees West Perry High School as a place where students and staff will be accepted, appreciated, and held accountable for high expectations and have leaders who are available to support students, staff, and the community.
Mr. Kasian began his teaching journey at Luzerne County Community College and Bloomsburg University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education/English. At Lehigh University, he obtained an ESL teaching certificate. He also earned a Master’s Degree from Wilkes University in Educational Leadership. During his first 12 years of teaching, he taught middle and high school English and ESL in the Philadelphia, Hazleton, and Panther Valley School Districts. His family moved to Dillsburg in 2016, and he was an ESL teacher at Central Dauphin East High and Summer School Principal for four years before serving as the 12th and 9th Grade Principal at East High for two years. In addition to teaching, he coached basketball, football, baseball, and track for 12 years as a head and assistant coach from the youth to high school level. He officiated PIAA basketball and baseball for six years and volunteered as a Good News Club and prison teacher for four years.
In his free time, Mr. Kasian enjoys being with his wife, Jessie, and their three boys, Timothy, Benjamin, and Daniel. They raise chickens and are avid gardeners. He loves being outdoors during all seasons, reading a good book, fishing, riding bikes, and exercising.
Mr. Clark McCready, Assistant Principal
Mr. McCready serves as the High School Assistant Principal and West Perry Virtual Academy & Online Learning Coordinator.
Mr. McCready grew up in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and received his bachelor’s degree in Special Education k-12 from Delaware State University in 2016. During his time as a student at Delaware State, he was elected team captain of the football team and worked as a STEM instructor for the local middle school age Boys & Girls Club of Delaware. Following graduation, he began his teaching career by serving in various special education roles such as Emotional, Learning, and Autistic Support for the Hollidaysburg Area School District and Claysburg-Kimmel School District. Following that, Mr. McCready taught English at Swatara Middle School (8th Grade) and Central Dauphin East High School (American Literature) in Harrisburg while simultaneously completing his master’s degree in Education Administration in 2023 through Drexel University. Mr. McCready was also a member of the Drexel University Educational Leadership Advisory Board. Mr. McCready has also held various coaching positions throughout the years, such as Head Coach of a Varsity Track & Field Program, Head JV Football Coach, Head Middle School Wrestling Coach, and Weight Room Coordinator for 2 districts.
In Mr. McCready’s free time, he enjoys training Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has also volunteered to teach English in extremely rural developing nations, such as Nepal and Morocco. He is extremely enthusiastic for the opportunity to be a part of the West Perry community and plans to share his experiences and passion with all students and staff. He is a firm believer that enthusiasm creates engagement.
